That time of the year again. It’s down to New York City to launch my new collection for Spring-Summer 2010. With a staff of 35, we’re not the biggest fashion company but we produce every collection right here in Toronto, designing and making beautiful clothing that can compete with other designers and manufacturers from all over the world.

Recently, a customer began telling me that she had been out of the workforce for the past three years having a family. She said she was now returning to her former job as a lawyer and that it was time for her to “dress up” and start to wear a suit to work again.
At the Lola and Gigi boutique, I immediately fell in love with two designers — Anna Scholz and Melissa Masse — who both have collections filled with glorious dresses. Of particular interest to me was a Scholz silk wrap dress with bright yellow lilies that is perfect for a tall curvy woman who wants a piece that can go from day to evening.
One of my favorite things about working in Manhattan was a store called Anthropologie. With all these happy memories, you can imagine how happy I was to hear that “my store” would be coming to Toronto.

We just put to bed the photos to our latest advertising campaign for the Spring/Summer 2010 Collection. I always try to shoot our campaigns here in Toronto. The shoot was a success. The weather worked in our favour and we were very lucky to turn an early autumn day into perfect summer light. Hope you like it.
